Marine Hotel Ballycastle

Great location on the beach - unfortunately our room overlooked the roundabout, but you could see the beach just about! The restaurant on site was ok, but the food at dinner was fairly average. The breakfast was very good though and all the staff we encountered were excellent.

Food at dinner was fairly bland and would have preferred a room facing onto the sea.

The room was very comfortable although not a mobility room as husband in a wheelchair we were very comfortable and the staff were lovely and very helpful to us

The fact they did not have a mobility room to cater for guests who are disabled would have been nice although we thought it was comfortable just a bit awkward for toilet needs in bathroom

Nice, clean, well maintained hotel with its own restaurant, great location, close to the Glens of Antrim, Glenariff Forest Park, Carrick-a Rede, Giant's Causeway, Dunluce, the seashore is right across a small park, see view - you can see beautiful, pictoresque Ballicastle bay from your window, good breakfast, free parking on the street or in the hotel's own parking lot

The restaurant is ok, but not outstanding, just average, the menu is a bit short, may get boring if you stay for several days, and there are not many options nearby, the room could be a little larger, the hotel was a bit expensive compared to other hotels of similar quaility in Ireland / N Ireland

Food was nice in the morning and the room was large and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and location was good.

My location was not actually in the hotel it was in a unit out the back which had to be accessed from outside rather than through the lobby, actually down the alleyway, quite unpleasant especially as I was returning to my room late at night. My room was also overlooking some delightful bins which obviously get collected on Monday morning so that was nice to wake up to. Additionally when I first arrived I was told that my room would be ready by 3. I left my bag in a friend's room and was told I would be contacted when the room was ready but no one contacted me until half 5. Everyone was already in their rooms so I went back on my own. Then my key fob would not work after repeated tries so I had to go back to reception and get a second fob and then finally able to get to my room. As it was not at the same time or close to the time my friends checked in I had to leave what we were doing and leave on my own and as we were there for one night, it meant I had missed out on an hour of our night together which was obviously not great. The back corridor also smelt of spoiled milk.
