We arrived in the early evening and found the key easily in the key box outside. The interior of the townhouse is tastefully decorated primarily in a blue and white theme that really gives off a nice coastal feel (the sea is just a short walk away). The staircase is particularly stylish with beautifully crafted iron handrails (a traditional touch with a modern design) and we particularly appreciated the blue patterned floor tiles. The house was very clean and the host provided ample bed linen and towels.
The layout of the townhouse consists of multiple levels as follows:
•Ground floor: Long narrow entrance + kitchen + dining area (with table and 4 chairs) + small courtyard + utility room + toilet and washbasin + washing machine. There is no living room within the house.
•First floor: Spacious fully furnished double bedroom (with TV and 2 wicker type chairs) + twin bedroom with wardrobes + main bathroom with shower (accessed via the twin room). Both toilet and shower in the same room with washbasin in a separate area. There is air conditioning in the 2 bedrooms only.
•Second floor: Spacious room (partial sea view) + additional toilet and washbasin + external lower terrace (building views).
•Top floor: External upper rooftop terrace (building views and partial sea view). There were 2 Acapulco chairs + wooden table and 4 chairs.
We counted 66 steps from the ground floor to the top floor terrace, therefore not suitable for those who have any kind of mobility issue.
While we did not use the kitchen to cook in, it was well-equipped (including dishwasher) with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Ironing facilities and a hair dryer were supplied.
I was reading that some guests were having trouble with the water pressure. That was not the case for us.
There was plenty of liquid soaps and detergents available.
There is a supermarket which opens early in the morning and closes at midnight and there are a few shops/bars along the road.
We would not recommend this townhouse to anyone who is a light sleeper, as the double bedroom is situated on the side of the house where there is a busy one way street. It is less noisy in the twin bedroom.
We contacted the host regarding:
•Hairdryer: a hairdryer was provided, but it had a plug incompatible with Maltese sockets, and no adapter was supplied. Providing an adapter or a compatible appliance would make this a lot more convenient for the guests. The host responded that they are inexpensive and can be purchased easily from local shops!
•Safety: two separate issues. 1. there was difficulty in locking the second floor door window. 2. The roof in the dining area was leaking (due to heavy rain) and water was running down the wall into the electrical socket where the table lamp was connected to. The host advised that their team would look into it and we hope that prompt action has now been taken to resolve this.
The dining area is located in an extension off the kitchen. It is quite dark (no ceiling light but only a table lamp) and unfortunately develops an unpleasant smell if you keep the door to the courtyard closed.
The shared/adjoining bathroom flow requires a bit of coordination between the guests.
There were no towel rails in the bathroom or hooks.
The bathroom windows are completely clear, meaning the blinds must remain down at all times for privacy, which blocks out all natural light. One of the blinds was damaged.
There was nowhere to hang clothes in the twin bedroom.
The water was very hot. It took us quite a while to find the right temperature setting as the mixer tap of the shower was not working properly.
The beds are very squeaky.
The 2nd floor gets very hot and there is no air conditioner (only fan).
The wall on the 2nd floor terrace is quite low and without a safety rail.

Overall, it is a lovely townhouse but would benefit from some routine maintenance and improvements to really bring it up to its full potential.

Great central location close to the marina and restaurants as well as the ferry to Gozo and Sliema. Wonderful townhouse, great terraces and lots of comfort. Enjoyed the kitchen as well. A jewel in St. Paul's Bay.

We received an E-mail with a dubios link for online check-in after completing the reservation. By this, we were asked to uplaod copies of our passports to this dubios portal, they saifd "it's rquired by local law". I denied to uplaod any pictures of our IDs because this is not GDPR compliant at all. In the end, it worked out without provided this but there was a bad taste for the booking because of this.
Details for accessing were no send automatically as promised, I had to call them to get it.
It's really loud because of the main road nex to the premises, in particular at weekends and in the front room. Don't forget your ear plugs!
A bit more furniture, especially on the roof terrace, would have been good.
