The gîte is very cute, cozy and well maintained with a nice and fully stocked kitchen and a nice bathroom with a bath. It's in a beautiful, somewhat less touristy part of the Ardennes, with lots of options for walks and sightseeing close by, with some great walks starting at the front door. The park of which the gîte is a part is very green and, although it seemed to be busy, judging from the amount of parked cars, it felt like being in a cottage in the wood by yourself.
The best part of it may be the reception by the host: house all clean and warm, with delicacies and a warm welcome. If we come to this part of the Ardennes again, we will be certain to return to the Heron.
There was nothing we didn't like during our stay. Perhaps for those going in summer the lack of (swimming) water close by (other than the Meuse) and a park that can possibly feel more crowded could be a downside, but this is a perfect spot during the less hot and busy season.

The house, the area and the host.
Maybe the stairs are a little in the way. But I can’t say I didn’t like. There is really nothing wrong it’s great.

Het huisje was perfect in orde, met leuke accentjes. We werden warm ontvangen en er stond ook lekkers klaar. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf!
