Brilliant

Great hosts and great place to stay

10 / 10

Great property

The bedrooms were large enough to cater for all the family. The house was in an excellent spot with shops close by and a pub,The Castle, just down the road selling excellent, reasonably priced food. The view from the house was amazing

There was nothing to dislike

4 / 10

Cynical hosts who provided the absolute minimum for maximum profit.

The house was very clean and conveniently located for our needs. Abbi was quite a helpful host; even offering us the use of the EV charging point at her own home, if necessary.

But the house had a problem with damp (especially noticeable in the external utility room and front bay window) as well as the plumbing (the kitchen taps made a very loud noise and leaked almost constantly). The kitchen didn't have enough storage space or work surfaces, and some of the crockery was dirty. There was only one dishwasher tab and one tea towel provided - not enough for a family of four. The compartment for the dishwasher tab was missing as was the bottom shelf in the fridge door. There were two key safes by the front door, so our first impression - after a long drive with two kids - was stress and frustration (we chose the wrong key safe initially). Finally, the property was advertised as pet-friendly, but this turned out not to be the case, so we also had to pay for our dog to be looked after while we were away.

8 / 10

Great stay. Comfortable home from home in a good location.

Immaculately clean, and nice spacious rooms. Great comfy beds. Lovely bathroom and modern kitchen.

Supply of cups and mugs were limited, there were only 5. Another arm chair or small sofa in the lounge would probably be needed if 6 people were staying at the house.
