They failed to mention that there was major building works opposite the apartment. Dishonest
The interior of the property was exactly as stated in the advert. However, that beautiful balcony view with the sea in the distance is replaced by the shell of a 3 storey block under construction, barely visible through the open construction. This appears to be a build in its advance stage, and should have been reflected in the adverts or guests informed and given the choice to decline or still take the rental. See the pictures attached. The property was very comfortable.The Kitchen was well equipped, and the dining facilities very good. There was a balcony to the front and the upstairs terrace was a bonus, both not useable for the major part of the day. There were ample white goods that made the stay very comfortable. Two vital things A/C in every room and WiFi facilities was invaluable.
Our arrival at the apartment was very disappointing, as we were deposited at an apartment immediately opposite the shell of a 3 storey building, with workmen on site. The noise was such that we could not hear each other speak due to the drilling. Upstairs in the apartment the noise was even louder, because the patio door was open, and the men were working at the same level as our apartment. The shutter was almost fully down, making the room dark and depressing in the early afternoon. With the patio door was open, and I could actually taste the dust in my throat. It was shocking. We called the agent and explained that we could not stay in such conditions, and needed to be relocated or have our funds returned, so that we can find somewhere else to stay before nightfall. We had still not unpacked because we believed that they would find better accommodation. A staff came over, she was able to open the shutter, and with the light coming through the patio door, the room felt less depressing, but you could not get away from the drilling. At this point we had still not unpacked, assuming that she would report the dire conditions on her return, and they would relocate us. We called the office for an update and reiterated that it was not possible to stay in such conditions, and needed to be given alternative accommodation, or a full refund. We spent that evening and the next day trying to get them to reallocate us, but to no avail. We were told that we could not be fully refunded as we had been into the apartment, but said even if we had refused to go into the apartment when we arrived, we would not get a full refund. She said the owner would offer a derisory 10%. Every morning we were awoken at 7am to the sound of drilling. The breakfast, coffee, and chill time on the patio was not possible. The only respite was mid morning when they break for i believe breakfast, and mid afternoon when they closed for the day, but by then we were out sightseeing.
