We enjoyed our stay, the location was quite and remote on very large acreage, which was great for walking our small dogs. Our late, after dark, arrival did make it tough to find the right cottage, some signage out front would be helpful. This location is right on the river, we had the fishing dock and the other folks in the other cottages asked us if they fish off the dock. We weren't doing any fishing so it was not a problem for us and they were quite and respectful.
Plenty of room for us and our 3 grandkids, AC was cold, TV was huge and the Wifi was fine. Most of our time was spent at South Padre, which was about 25-30 minutes away. Los Fresnos the nearest town had a Super Walmart and was only 15 minutes away.
I didn't care for the way communications was handled. Everything relayed through VRBO meant a delay and the chance of not catching a notification on the phone. This is what happened to us. Also a phone call to us was through a telephone bank located, it said in Seatle, which made me think it was a scam. I would rather have a direct connection to the Host, something that wasnt provided. A phone bank manned by people probably outside the USA is really not acceptable in this age of internet and phone scams is not acceptable.
Caesar the host who contacted us via the VRBO app was polite and helpful. Just wished I had a direct line of come kind in case of emergency or something urgent.

Our family had a great time! We loved that the kitchen was stocked up with utensils and pans. The bunk beds were a big bonus to fit everyone comfortably. Washer and dryer was a plus! Bring bottle waters and bug spray. Great private fishing dock! Use hotdogs for bait. Walmart and HEB groceries are 15 minutes away by S. Padre.

So I’ll start off by saying that I really wanted to give this a 5 star just based off of the fishing deck, but there were a lot of small things that I just couldn’t. The deck was awesome we caught a bunch of little channel cat had 7 guest (2 adults and 5 children) staying 5 days 4 nights. They gave us 5 bath towels, 3 trash bags, no laundry soap, 1 roll of paper towels, and no oven mitts or dish towels for a kitchen with no dishwasher.

The property needed some maintenance on the deck especially...I tripped several times.No wash cloths in bathroom or dish rags/towels were in the kitchen.It's a nice small "lake house" type place. I rated it a 3 for good because according to the pictures I was expecting it to be nicer.Beds were comfortable.
