AVOID! The worst place I’ve ever rented
Absolutely nothing. It’s grim.
In a very deprived area, overflowing bins outside the door. Rubbish strewn all over the front garden, across the path to the front door. So many cobwebs covering the entrance, everything was filthy.
Upon entering the property we found two very dangerous electrical issues; a boiler switch with live wiring exposed and a light switch with a large gap in the wall and live wiring exposed.
The kitchen looked like it has had a fire- cooker backsplash was burnt badly. The cooker hood was thick with grease. Very few items to cook with or serve food on. No cleaning items, just one very old grubby sponge that I wouldn’t use on a dog!
The property is very dirty, dubious white stains on the sofa, disgusting smell hits you as you enter. It’s in a state of severe disrepair. All surfaces dirty. Doors and windows have never seen a cloth or soap. Carpets are filthy, hard floors stained with what looked like either blood or nail varnish. Bathroom was just as bad, dirty stained bath curtain, toilet with dubious stains, exposed dirty pipe work everywhere. Radiator about to fall off and all rusty.
Towels had yellow stains on.
Bedrooms - very basic, no mirror to get ready. Same issue with cleanliness - disgusting. Bed toppers stained with god knows what. Spider webs everywhere. This property appears to be used very little. No surprise why!
We had to stay the first night because we couldn’t get anywhere at short notice (we checked in late), we messaged the host immediately and explained the issues and that we wanted a refund for the remaining nights as we were trying to move. They asked for photos, we sent them using the options on booking.com and they denied receiving them. We tried calling them, they wouldn’t answer. They have been elusive. They have done nothing to resolve our issues, so we moved and went to a great place (Ye Olde Plough House). I’m now taking further action against this host to get a refund.
DO NOT BOOK! It’s the worst place I’ve ever seen.
