Rooms are small but it is a good price for the location. We were able to walk everywhere and transportation options are very close. Rooms were clean and there were no problems

Motel One – Two Cities, Two Very Different Experiences We stayed at Motel One in both Edinburgh and Dublin, and although both hotels belong to the same chain, our experiences were surprisingly different, especially when it came to the service and the welcome we received at reception. Our stay in Dublin was particularly memorable thanks to the wonderful young man who welcomed us at reception. He was friendly, polite, attentive and genuinely interested in helping us make the most of our visit. As it was our first time in Dublin, he took the time to explain the city map, recommend places to visit and suggest good restaurants. He even recommended a sightseeing bus tour so that we could see as much of the city as possible during our stay. His warmth, enthusiasm and helpful advice made us feel truly welcome and created an excellent first impression Unfortunately, our welcome in Edinburgh was quite different. When we asked the receptionist to recommend a nearby pub with live music, his response was rather abrupt and unhelpful. We understand that it is not always possible to know every place in the area, but a little friendliness and willingness to help would have made a big difference. It was disappointing to experience such a contrast between two hotels belonging to the same chain. Apart from this difference in service, we were happy with both hotels. The rooms were clean, cosy and well maintained. Although not particularly large, they were cleverly arranged and comfortable.
