About this apartment rental
Nestled in the heart of the Fond Basile neighborhood, on the left as you enter the village of Tartane—a picturesque fishing village part of the municipality of La Trinité on the Caravelle Peninsula— the “Le Colibri et le Frangipanier” residence is a true haven of peace, offering exceptional tranquility, where Frédérique, the manager, welcomes her guests for stays that she meticulously plans to make them as enjoyable as possible. Featuring three spacious studios, each measuring 30 m² and opening onto a garden bathed in sunlight all morning long, this ideal spot for a pleasant vacation in Martinique is close to Fond Basile Beach, which extends 300 meters further to Madras Beach—a favorite among tourists as well as all Martinicans for the quality of the swimming, but also for the warm welcome, the legendary friendliness and hospitality of the “Tartanais.” Of course, if you’ve chosen Martinique as your vacation destination—a choice for which we congratulate you—it’s surely because you want to enjoy its tropical climate, its flora, its exotic charm, its history, culture, cuisine, nature, year-round warm sea, arts, and more. However, if you’re looking to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, know that the “Le Colibri et le Frangipanier” offers spacious studios that sleep up to 4 people, equipped with Wi-Fi, a kitchenette and dining area, a TV, and air conditioning—and, of course, a garden where you can relax and soak up the sun.
Want to get out and about, explore a bit, or find a good restaurant nearby? You can get there on foot or by car!
In the village of Tartane, not far from the “Le Colibri et le Frangipanier” residence, you’ll have a choice between fast food (pizza place) and fine dining, not to mention restaurants specializing in seafood, and more.
With the legendary ruins of Château du Buc, built in 1721, and its Baie du Trésor, the Caravelle Peninsula is Martinique’s most popular tourist destination. For hikers and walkers, it’s the perfect spot to explore the rugged trails in a safe environment, thanks to well-marked trails and the watchful eye of the rangers from the Martinique Regional Nature Park. During one of these excursions, you can visit the lighthouse, which stands over 165 meters high (the tallest in France) at the tip of the Caravelle Peninsula. Of course, Madras Beach is magnificent, but don’t overlook “Surfers’ Beach ” or Anse Bonneville, with its surf spot renowned far beyond Martinique; Anse l’Étang Beach; and Baie du Trésor, with its beach that you can simply walk along—as it’s part of the Regional Nature Park, swimming is prohibited there. And what about La Brèche Beach? Or the red-sand beach at Pointe à Bibi, and so on? A visit to the Hardy Distillery (1830) is a must. There are so many spots to discover that will make your stay enjoyable when you choose to stay at the “Le Colibri et le Frangipanier” residence. Frédérique will offer suggestions for exploring Martinique and share insider tips on all kinds of excursions.
