Terrible Stay, Terrible HOST!

*****NEW ADDED ANSWER TO YOUR REPLY******* I will do it here, as this is the only area allowing me to refute your claims. Simply stated, YOU ARE A LIAR! I only mentioned from where I travelled to explain how long we had been traveling and express how tired we were. Being in the hospitality business, you should understand and be more helpful to visitors. I know the travelers on this site will understand that, even if you don't. Attempting to misrepresent me as expecting special treatment because of my country of origin is complete and utter prejudice and discrimination!!!!! Furthermore, I NEVER ONCE QUESTIONED OR TRIED NOT TO PAY THE TOURIST TAX! YOU ARE A LIAR!!! I was stating that I already paid well over that and was trying to assure you that I would pay the 27 Euros as well. I tried to think of anything and everything possible to try and pay the tourist tax. IN FACT, I HAVE EVERY SINGLE WHATSAPP MESSAGE BETWEEN US TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE A LIAR!!!! Below are all of our text messages to show that YOU ARE A LIAR!!! I am so happy you took the time to reply to my review and I urge everyone to carefully read your reply. You rent places for people to stay on vacation and you are upset that you had to be on the phone with Booking.com to help resolve the issue of the dead credit card link that you sent me. You are literally whining about doing your job! You had to stay on the phone? We had to wait in a hot vehicle with our luggage. We were on vacation. We paid over 1000 Euros to stay in the apartment. We were the customers! And then the grand plan you came up with was for me to walk around the block and give the cash to your bartender friend? Wow, you must have needed a nap after that. Once again, I am running out of space to express my displeasure with this place, so I will answer no more. I just hope Booking.com posts the photos of our text conversation so everyone can read it and make their determination on what transpired.

After travelling from the United States, leaving Monday afternoon, we arrived in Menorca Tuesday afternoon (due to time change and airline delays). Once at the location, the host(?), who was not on scene, refused to provide the access code to retrieve the key until we paid a tourist tax of 27 Euros. The host(?) sent a link for the payment, which did not work. I tried three different credit cards on two different phones, but the link she sent appeared to be disabled. I even found a helpful, local family that attempted to make the payment with their credit card on their phone and it still did not work. The host(?) only communicated on WhatsApp and just refused to provide me any assistance. We were outside the apartment for over two hours, in the heat, after travelling for nearly 15 hours! Mind you, this was over 27 Euros, even though the over 1,000 Euros for the stay was already paid in full! I called the host(?) through WhatsApp, and pled with her to allow my family in the apartment. I offered to leave the money in the apartment, drive ANYWHERE ON THE ISLAND to drop the money off or make any other arrangement she wished to get her the 27 Euros, as we were going to be in the apartment for the next four days. She hung up on me and refused to answer the phone when I called back. Finally, after over two hours, I was able to get in contact with someone on Booking.com and through him as a mediator, I was able to drop off the 27 Euros to a restaurant around the corner from where we were sitting in our rented car. I really do not know what kind of ridiculous power trip this host(?) was on, but that could have been set up immediately upon our arrival. Once again, this was over 27 Euros, even though we already paid 1044 Euros in full! Once inside the apartment, the air condition barely worked, the beds were terribly uncomfortable, the pool was dirty and gross and everything in the area opened late and closed early, if they opened at all.

Macchina caffe a capsule, un motivo della scelta del Santandria appartamento, è scomparsa, la motivazione che sia stata rubata non è seria, poteva essere sostituita. Terrazza pulizia insufficiente, con formiche (ho dovuto comprare un insetticida), stendibiancheria sporchissimo. Climatizzazione non sufficiente, la camera rimane calda.
