I wouldn’t recommend it, if I could’ve got a refund I would have

Unfortunately, this was by far the worst apartment I have stayed in during my 12–15 visits to Dubai through Booking.com and Airbnb. Cleanliness was a major issue. The floors, surfaces, walls, bedding and microwave were not clean, which made the overall experience disappointing from the moment I arrived. The apartment was also poorly equipped, with insufficient utensils for preparing meals. In addition, the water pressure from the taps was very poor, with water often barely trickling out. Communication and instructions could also have been much better. There were no clear instructions explaining how things worked within the building. On my first night, I had to park on the street because I was unable to access the building’s car park, despite having paid to stay at the property with parking. I also had to rely on the building staff to explain where the garbage chute was located. Overall, the apartment did not feel particularly well maintained, and the experience left me with the impression that little effort had been made to ensure guests had a comfortable stay. Having stayed in numerous apartments in Dubai, I have generally found that hosts go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and provide a good experience. Unfortunately, this property fell well short of those expectations. There is considerable room for improvement in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, facilities and guest communication. With better attention to these basics, the experience could be significantly improved.

Frank Porter's poor customer service ruined my week at this apartment

I'm afraid it was all a mess. Here are the reasons why: - When I arrived, there was no personalised check-in which was promised and no building access pass, resulting in me being locked out of the building on the first evening. After several requests, the pass arrived after 24 hours. - Much of the cutlery and crockery was dirty when I arrived. Not horribly dirty, but with bits of congealed cereal in the bowls, a hair in a cup and the glasses not properly washed. - There was a terrible smell of garlic from the fridge that engulfed the apartment every time I opened it. Not the operator's fault, but they were never able to resolve the issue. - There is a hob but no pots and pans, no tea towels, cloths or cleaning equipment. - There is nowhere to sit and eat or work, apart from a narrow ledge and some bar stools. - The mattress was cheap, lumpy and uncomfortable. - There was a spare pillow and duvet, but no spare covers. The duvet and pillow smelled of the previous users. - Despite many promises and many visits by Frank Porter (meaning I was waiting in the apartment for hours and hours throughout the week waiting for visits), my issues were not resolved and my requests to move were turned down ("because the owner would not be happy"). - During my stay, I found the same apartment on another website for half the cost I was paying - Once I finally spoke to a supervisor at Frank Porter, he said he had only just been told of my issues and would offer me compensation of a one hour later check-out and a free clean, which I thought was insulting! They subsequently offered me a 10% refund which again was not commensurate with the extremely poor service I received. In the end, I gave up trying to deal with them....it was so painful.
