What I loved most about Ca' Donzella was the wonderful sense of being part of Venice rather than simply visiting it. The location near the Rialto markets is fantastic, surrounded by the atmosphere, energy and everyday character of the city. Being able to wander through the markets, explore the narrow streets and discover interesting places almost immediately outside our door was a real highlight.
The apartment itself has genuine Venetian charm and character. It was reasonably clean, well maintained and comfortable, with a particularly spacious main room. While the layout is a little unconventional, that is arguably part of the appeal of staying in an authentic Venetian apartment.
The location is excellent for exploring the city, with countless attractions, restaurants and beautiful little streets within easy walking distance. As a bonus for film enthusiasts, the surrounding area is close to locations associated with films such as The Tourist and the James Bond film Casino Royale.
For me, the real attraction was the atmosphere and the experience of staying somewhere that felt genuinely connected to Venice. If that's what you're looking for, there's a lot to love about this apartment.
The apartment has a somewhat awkward and compact layout, with some areas feeling quite pokey despite the generous size of the main room. It's reasonably comfortable, but practicality and spaciousness aren't its strongest features.
Although the apartment can accommodate more than two guests, personally I would recommend it primarily for a couple. With additional people, I think the layout and limited space would start to compromise the comfort of the stay.
This isn't accommodation I'd choose for modern luxury or exceptional comfort. Its real value lies in its authenticity, character and fantastic location. If those things are important to you, the compromises are well worth making.

The location was very close to the main bridge in Venice! It was very easy to find and the communication with the owner was great, even during some adventurous times! The host was very gracious and I would highly recommend staying here. Nice that they had a washing machine in unit as well!

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo appartamento a Venezia e la posizione è senza dubbio il suo punto di forza: eccezionale, a pochissimi passi dal Ponte di Rialto, nel cuore pulsante della città.
Tuttavia, la struttura lascia molto a desiderare. L’appartamento è vecchio e non sembra essere stato adeguatamente preparato per un’ospitalità turistica. L’aria condizionata è costituita da un unico apparecchio mobile, sufficiente a malapena per una stanza, ma assolutamente inadeguato per rinfrescare l’intero spazio.
La casa appare trascurata, con ragnatele al soffitto e del sporco datato un po’ ovunque:
oggetti personali, alcuni antichi, altri semplicemente vecchi, sono sparsi in giro, dando l’impressione di un appartamento affittato così com’è, senza una reale vocazione turistica.
Il confine tra vintage e altro è sottile... Basterebbe una bella ripulita e una sistemazione generale per rendere l’appartamento più accogliente e adatto agli ospiti.
Peccato, perché la posizione è davvero impareggiabile.
