During my round-the-world trip, I visited various regions in India and stayed at many hotels. Having traveled all over the globe, I have never experienced a stay at a hotel filled with such incredible warmth and hospitality.
【Incredible Hospitality】
Shortly after arriving with my 11-year-old son, we both came down with severe altitude sickness. The staff immediately provided us with an oxygen mask and quickly called a taxi for us. I ended up needing to be hospitalized, but even after I was discharged, the staff continued to check on us with great care. Although we were very anxious, thanks to the staff, we were able to rest and stay with complete peace of mind.
【Dining】
Indian cuisine was a bit too intense for my son and me, and we had a hard time finding food that suited our taste. However, the meals at this hotel were absolutely delicious. They accommodated our request to make the food less spicy every single time, making all three meals something we truly looked forward to. Furthermore, right after leaving the hospital when I could barely eat, the breakfast buffet had oatmeal porridge and boiled eggs, which allowed me to eat even while recovering. Once we got better, we started ordering different dishes as well. Every single meal was truly delicious, and we enjoyed them from the bottom of our hearts.
【Environment & Surroundings】
Despite being very close to the Main Bazaar, our room was extremely quiet, and we could see a large tree from the window, allowing us to get a good, restful sleep. While it was unfortunate that we had to spend a lot of time in bed due to altitude sickness, it was the perfect room for recovery. The chirping of birds and the gentle breezes that seemed to come out of nowhere were simply wonderful. Step outside the hotel, and you’ll immediately find fruit stands and general stores. Even when I had to shop while feeling unwell, I could buy what I needed right away, making the hotel's location absolutely perfect.

The hotel staff is very friendly, the rooms are spacious, cozy and beautiful, the hotel location is just across the main market where all the shops and restaurants are.
Also, they have a rooftop with stunning views of the palace. The hot showers are a blast during the cold days!

Not the cheapest place to stay, but a very nice comfortable place with very good buffet breakfast. I am here already for the forth time. Often sold out, so book well ahead. A big comfortable roof terrasse, with close view of Leh
palace.
Some rooms on groundfloor have just a view to a concrete wall, some kingsize beds have an annoying gap between the matrasses. All not rearly severe.

Good things about the hotel. Situated Bang at the centre of the market. Though I did not like it but for many people it would be an added attraction. The room number 301 which is a suite has good view of the mountains.
Coming to the cons
1. The rooms starting with 1 (101,102---)are simply hell hole.
2. So called second floor is bang on the top of the street absorbing carbon monoxide fumes from the road. The one on the back and on the side have pathetic views.
3. Only the rooms on the third floor are worth living.
4. Leh is the windy city and most of the hotel have balconies This does not have any.
5. This is a very old property with no lift and no parking space. They actually don't expect guest come with cars.
6. I think there are many other choices in the city today. The ratings are somehow misguiding.
