About this house rental

Imagine staying at this secluded 14 acre forested 5 bedroom house and barn property in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

Enjoy peace, nature and wildlife. Catch a game at the University of Oregon ( Hayward Field / Autzen Stadium 13 miles away). Watch the wildlife from the windows. Explore the Western Cascades. Ski the local mountains. Get creative with art, music, words. Or just chill.

Depending on the season, deer, foxes, wild turkeys, families of quail, mourning doves and bluejays/scrubjays will meander past the windows.

EVs welcome! There is a 30 amp outlet on site for charging electric vehicles. Don’t forget your charging cord.

Fitness Center: Pleasant Hill center (5 minutes away) has an excellent fitness center named Just Move Fitness.

Dog heaven 4 minutes away. A beautiful 4 acre dog park on the edge of Elijah Bristow State Park and the Willamette river.

Minimum 3 day bookings.

For us The Barnyard is a labor of love. We spent most of 2022 and 2023 renovating the property and getting it ready to share. Our vision is for The Barnyard to become a destination unlike any other in the area. We want it to be a unique place where the world can be shut out behind 14 acres of Douglas firs, blackberry bushes and grassy meadows, and yet be close to all that the area has to offer: the University, the mountains, the rivers, the restaurants, and the wineries. We continue to work to make it as comfortable and well appointed as possible without losing the rugged and unfussy nature of the place.

Be one of the first to experience this house, barn and forest property. We’d be absolutely delighted to have you be our guest!

Couple of things to consider before booking:

Our goal for your stay at The Barnyard is for you to thoroughly enjoy your stay. Experience has shown that good communications makes for good outcomes. In your booking request, please tell us about yourself and your group...
-expectations for your stay on the property
-any special needs
-age group categories
-favorite forest creature (optional): deer, turkey, fox, bear, leopard, banana slug, barn mouse or...?

Cameras: For added security, there are cameras in several OUTDOOR areas of the property (main gate, driveway, barn, house). Some of these cameras include floodlights, 2 way audio, and motion detection of people, vehicles and wildlife.

Super Easy Checkout:

We don't require the usual checkout chores like stripping beds, starting laundry, dishwasher loading, emptying trash, washing windows.

At checkout time, just grab your stuff and go!

About the "Host" fee on the pricing details...This is where VRBO lumps fees like cleaning and pet fees, etc. Our cleaning fee, currently 490 for the entire stay--and the lions share of the Host fee, reflects the higher cost of getting really awesome and thorough, professional cleaners for this rural property. We've had the same crew for over 3 years and we are confident that you will love their work.

SORRY, NO SPECIAL EVENTS AT THIS TIME.

If there is anything else you'd like to know about the property or the area, please ask. We hope to have the honor of hosting your next stay in the Eugene area!

Warm regards,
Stephen & Suzanne
