We stayed in Tokyo and Osaka prior to our stay here in Kyoto at Maeniiya Machiya Inn. Maeniiya Machiya Inn is a definite great place to stay and close to everything. Akemi (property owner) is a wealth of knowledge and gave a lot of tips and recommendations. Be sure to visit Sukemasa for dinner if you like Gyoza. It is very close and yummy for 1000yen! What an exquisite property this is! It was such a special experience to be able to walk down our very own Kyoto alley to our home away from home. The hosts were very communicative and spoke great English when we came to check in. Loved our stay!

Travelled with two teenage boys enjoyed the space very quiet living in a local neighbourhood good location to eateries. Only issue was the elderly neighbour who complained to us within the first 5 mins of arriving that we were too loud walking up and down the apartment stairs which was not great but overall was good location, good facilities very clean
