It was a disappointing stay due to the riots and civil unrest occurring in France at the moment.

Location close by to restaurant facilities was good. The guitar shop just around the corner was a draw card. The third level gave a good view of Place de Catalogne and Salvador Dali statue.

The apartment is in need of quite some upgrading works, specifically: 1) Bed sags towards the centre 2) Pillows need replacing, the innards are lumpy foam pieces 3) Towels are quite threadbare and require replacing 4) Floor was not that clean (bare feet quite dirty just walking around) 5) Power point in the bathroom is quite loose and requires electrician to inspect and replace (safety issue) 6) I screwed 3 of the 4 table legs back in properly; couldn't do the 4th one 7) Side tripod table lamp is faulty (one leg falls off & intermittent operation) 8) Lounge chair cover on left hand side quite work and requires replacement 9) Crockery was not clean; we washed our items used and returned to cupboards.

A very bad experience

Really hard to find something that we liked. Maybe the position, not far from the city centre.

When we arrived at 7 PM, the host was not there as agreed, and we had to wait for her. Then, when we entered the apartment, it was a complete mess because the host had not informed the cleaning lady of our arrival. We had to go away and come back after two hours, but the apartment was not clean: a lot of dust, no soap or shampoo, debris in the kitchenette basin, mould in some corners, rotten date by a window, stained curtains. We suffer from asthma, and before arrival, we contacted the property to ask for a thorough cleaning, but that was not done, so we had health issues at night, and we had to move to a different hotel the next day. We asked for a partial refund, but we did not get any answer from the host. Note that the host is NOT responding to messages sent via booking (or via the Gmail address she provided). The only possible contact is via phone, but different people are answering the calls, and they do not pass around the messages. P.S. I have photos documenting the state of the apartment.

Very disappointing.

central location but you cant stop outside because it is on an intersection. there is expensive paid parking across the road in a secure car park or safe free street parking in the streets nearby 19.00--08.00. There are free 20 minute parking spots in Avenue de Gaulle. The area along the Avenue de Gaulle is scruffy but safe. The building is fairly modern. The studio is a decent size. Extra double glazing which is a must since it sits on the main road into and through the city (3rd floor). If you are super sensitive you can still hear a traffic rumble at night but basically it works. A/C which is essential because you cant open the windows because of the traffic noise. Very nice host. She has to drive to give the keys and cant do so before 18.00. that is rush hour so best to plan for a delay with traffic. Small supermarket on the ground floor. Good restaurant (the Napoli) across the road. 5-10 mins walk to old city.

Fairly spartan and in need of TLC. Sheets are rough. Sink is cracked. Shower hose sprays out water and the shower doesnt drain so it floods . Be warned, there is no soap and the kitchen doesnt have the usual courtesy of a couple of coffee capsules and you have to guess which type to buy - its not the simple nespresso type (so universal it is a mystery why rentals use anything else). Clean overall but sticky shelves in cabinet and the freezer has the refrozen remains of something
