The in room dining and the dining staff were amazing. They were always so helpful and made you feel properly attended to. They were well behaved, professional and respectful.
The rooms and the internal decor were beautiful. It was a pleasure to be in the space.
The quality of each and every dish was very high, where Malayalee or continental. The chefs are excellent 👌🏼.
The spa service that we had was very good. The therapist was calm, had a nice manner and was very experienced.
The reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. I had requested a number of times for help in planning local trips, to the backwaters and other excursions and they never got back to me or helped. I ended up having to book online for a premium rate.
When I checked out, the surly female member of staff told me how much money I owe, and gave a receipt. It was very transactional. No smiles, talk etc. Or asking how our stay was.
It's of paramount importance that the reception staff are more helpful and more friendly as they represent the face of the hotel.

Has historic aspects
The rooms weee very comfortable ale. Most comfortable bed in India we have stayed on and we have been around the south in lucky hotels and stays from Taj palace to luxury villas
Bar expensive for drinks. Coke was outrageously priced.
Not quite a far star. More a 4 star at best.
Options for breakfast should be better and the dining room a bit more five star.
