This is a lovely spacious well equipped house about a 15 minute walk from the lighthouse. Very comfortable beds and unlike many properties linens are included. The area is very quiet with limited restaurants within walking distance but only a short drive from wider options. Has everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen if you fancy eating in. We were only 5 adults so had plenty of space but if at full capacity (sleeps 12) might be a bit tight. A short cycle ride to lovely beaches. Small shop, bakery, cycle hire and 2 restaurants a 20 minute walk. Great to have off road parking for 1 car (although I was glad our hire car wasn't too big, took several attempts to get it in) and plenty of space in the courtyard for bikes. All in all, everything you want and need for a fantastic stay on Ile de Re.
Some very minor suggestions which didn't detract from our enjoyment of the house. There is limited storage so could benefit from some drawers as opposed to hanging rails. Not a negative but the pool is about 1.4m throughout. Not sure if children are permitted but they would need to be very closely supervised. The ladder into the pool is quite short so it takes a bit of upper body strength to get out of it. The instructions are to leave no rubbish in the property including in the large dustbins outside. This means taking everything to the dump which if you didn't have a car would be a bit tricky, especially if you were a full house. A departure time of 10.00 seems the norm but cleaners arrived early so felt a bit rushed.
