Quiet, hideaway with clean and comfortable rooms but it’s just a 3 minute stroll from the bustling clifftop shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.
The manager, Mohammed, was totally unfazed by our early arrival and made us feel thoroughly at home. He also organised a day trip to Jatayu Earth’s Centre and our onward hotel transfer - both at highly competitive rates.
Breakfast was served on our room’s balcony or the hotel’s large rooftop terrace. A great communal space with cover from the sun, large tables, a fridge and yoga mats!
Laundry was well organised and cheap. In fact, all staff were friendly and helpful.
I would 100% return here on our next trip to Varkala.

Everything!! Staff was helpful and accommodating. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty. Location was close enough to the action of the cliffs, but far enough removed for a peaceful night sleep. Highly recommend.

Superbly well kept and a great location.
Bit of a surprise on price. I changed the dates(with four days notice) and added an extra night. That nearly doubled the price of the room. I think that it might be a Booking.com charge for a change of dates but it came as a rather unwelcome surprise. Surcharges should be made clear.
Despite paying rather over the top (see above) no a/c in May seems a bit 1980's..
Not in the hotel's control but the lifeguards get everyone out of the water at the drop of a hat. As soon as the waves get slightly interesting the whistles go and it's only 'up to your knees' time.
No shade, no umbrellas to hire, it's an exposed strip of sand with limited swimming.
Looks great.

Rooms are clean. Location is good. Very near to the north cliff.
No options for breakfast. They have day wise set breakfast menu. They don’t have power back up, so whenever there was a power cut it became pitch black.
