About this house rental
Newly renovated, come recharge your batteries with a stay at this former train station on the Toul–Thiaucourt railroad line and discover its history. Located in the heart of nature, set back from the road, you’re just 5 minutes from Lake Madine, within the Metz-Nancy-Verdun triangle, about 50 km away. A pétanque court is set up right next to the building. If you love peace and quiet and nature, you won’t be disappointed

FIrst of all, Jennifer is a great host -- doesn't speak much English, but goes out of her way to try. We couldn't figure out how to use the heaters, so she came right over to show us. It was nice to meet her that way; she was truly helpful.
The listing on Vrbo is 100% accurate, so there are shortcomings, but no surprises at all. Place is well laid-out for a family. That being said, Pannes is the middle of nowhere; all the commerce is in Pont-A-Moussons, about 15 km from the house. Good luck finding a French restaurant -- there's a McDonald's and a couple ursatz American-type restaurants - in Pont-A-Moussons.
House is close to Verdun, which is what we wanted, but for that, we gave up the charming French restaurants. You MUST have a car to get around; there's no other way. But again, read the listing carefully; it's 100% truthful and accurate.
Overall, we had a great stay, and Jennifer is a lovely host.
