Due to some last minute snafus, I had an 11 hour layover at the Rome airport, overnight. Needless to say I was not looking forward to that. I was able to book this hotel online just minutes before departing Spain. It's only 4 km from the airport. My arrival in Rome was just after their front desk closed, so I was disappointed to hear I would have to do a self service check-in. However, it was very easy, instructions were clear how to retrieve my keys so no problem at all. In addition, I needed a taxi back to the airport at 430 a.m. i don't speak Italian so I was apprehensive about if the taxi didn't show up and there's no front desk to provide assistance. However, communicating with the staff in the minutes before they closed, they arranged a taxi for 430 am and it worked out perfectly.
The room was simple but very large, very clean. It had a kitchenette, as well.as tabe and chairs. It also had a balcony. I was able to get a hot shower, sleep and get back to the airport on time which was exactly what I needed.
The hotel.is gated, felt very secure. In the elevator I met other Americans returning from the nearby beach. They said they've been making an annual trip there for the past several years. So it's a great spot to get some rest but it can be a vacation spot as well.

This was a wonderful place and Alex, the front desk guy is the sweetest!! He surprised me with a birthday pastry in the morning. It made my morning!
