Stayed 8 nights recently for fun and for conference. Overall I had a wonderful experience at the hotel and would definitely return. Check in experience was good.
Room was spacious and very clean. Ocean view from room was gorgeous. Housekeeping worked with me very patiently to find the best pillow for me. The towels were newer than average and fluffy. All 3 restaurants onsite were actually very good in terms of food quality and service. The buffet breakfast was only available on the weekend when I was there. Elevators were quick and all were functioning well so I never had to wait long even though I was on the 19th floor. Fitness center was well-equipped and very clean.
I also truly appreciated the 7x filtered water available at the fitness center and behind the Fres. Co dining room that we could refill our water bottles with during the stay and also the 2 free bottles of water that the hotel gave every day without charge.
Omni is right across the street from the Convention Center so it is PERFECT for any conference goers. It is also right at the entrance of the Gas Lamp Quarters which has many good restaurants, and for baseball fans it has a special entrance to Petco Park.
The only thing people should just be aware of is that the train depot is next to the property so there is railway noise day and night if you are on that side of the building.
