The hotel is undergoing maintenance, so the signs are clearly posted. However, to say my room was one of the newly renovated rooms it could still use some touch-ups. I don't know if it was done in a rushed manner, but it clearly needed things done.
The remote was missing from my room. I went to the front desk to let the person know. He said maintenance was still there and would get one to me. I went to park my car and retrieve something. I had already unloaded my luggage and started putting my things away. I also had my "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door.
I was shocked to see someone standing in my room when I walked into my room. I thought if your DND sign was on your door, no one could rightfully enter your room. My things were laying out and open. It turns out the same man who was sitting out front when I arrived, who I thought was another guest, who had offered to help me unload my luggage. I said no to him because I clearly didn't want to send mixed messages as a single woman, who didn't speak or understand spanish, traveling alone. He was now in my room, standing in front if my television programming a remote control.
What a shock. I didn't care about a FIFA game or anything else at that point. I took the remote and walked him out.
