I stayed for two nights while helping at an equestrian event a few miles away. The staff are so friendly and helpful. A young lady who answered my phone call when I was lost kindly stood out in the road in the dark to guide me - after a 250 mile drive, this was very much appreciated. Luke, who was front of house during my stay, could not have been more helpful in spite of having an injured arm. I had to leave early the second day, and Luke brought breakfast to my room. Room very spacious and comfortable. My evening meal was fresh and hot. Lovely bacon butty for breakfast. It is always good to have a fridge and fresh milk in the room. Booked in again in November, looking forward to staying again.
My only issue was the long time it took to get the hot water to come through in the shower and the hot tap. So long in fact that I gave up waiting on the first night and didn't have a shower. The second night I persevered and after about 7-8 minutes, it came through and was nice and hot. A friend was in the room next door and said her hot water was fine, so this problem might be confined to room 3 - maybe it is at the end of a long pipe run! Rating would have been higher for facilities if it were not for this, but it is an old building.
