So much wrong here.

The house design is really neat. All open, master on one side of the house with guest rooms on the other side of the house. Great open floor plan and set up!

After booking, I was taken to vacasa page to sign the rental agreement, and found the pet fee was ridiculous at $200 with no fenced yard or pet friendly accessories. I attempted to negotiate since I work in the dog industry. Not only were they unwilling to negotiate, but the agent I spoke to with vacasa was very rude. I called booking .Com and the agent I spoke to there agreed with me that the dog fee was too high to not disclose. He attempted to negotiate but was also unable to. By this point, they'd worked themselves to a 5, and I hadn't shown up at the property yet. Arrived at the property, and it's a 9 digit code to get in the door. The lock kept re setting. It took 15 min to get in the door. We had so many problems with the door lock on our stay, which explains why they sent troubleshooting info in their initial welcome message. Down to a 4 for the unworking front door. Got in the house looks decent at first, but upon inspection, both bathrooms were still dirty or poorly cleaned. There was someone elses poo still on the toilet and other things. The fridge was dirty, I was quite disappointed. The wifi was patchy at best, and there was 2 differing information on the wifi, so best guess wins. Spoke to vacasa about the cleanliness of the home and their rating down to a 1. They did not seem to mind. During our stay, someone stopped by the house unannounced 3 times. Apparently, that's normal. If it's winter months, you will need to pay for the pool to be heated. That's $32/day. At the end of my stay booking .com returned 1/4 of my payment for the poor rated home. It's now 1/2/25, and I've stayed in 5 houses since 12/1/24, and this was by far the worst, yet most expensive. If you're looking to hang out in Port Charlotte, this is kind of an OK location, but if you're hanging out in Punta Gorda, it's a drag, 25 min to Fisherman's Village area.

Property was as described, clean on arrival and well stocked with everything you need. The pool was an added bonus. Great location, close to lots of shopping choices. Beautiful beaches at Boca Grande and Englewood only 35 minutes away. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Disappointing!

The swimming pool was clean and a decent size.

We were unable to access the property because the wrong keybox code had been sent to us, the electronic lock failed on the second day and the keybox jammed on a third occasion! The house was extremely dirty and my wife and I had to spend hours cleaning it. The bedding was stained - we washed the sheets but could do nothing about the mattresses. The barbeque had not been cleaned properly and took hours to get the grime off it before we could use it - we left it in a far better state. The check-out time was unrealistic - expecting guests to pack everything and leave the house in a reasonable state before 10.00am on the last day is not helpful. Most hotels allow you until 12.00noon!
