October is the perfect month to visit the desert.
Hotel Riad Ali in Merzouga is the perfect place to stay. The hotel is calm and relaxed with a swimming pool to enjoy between your quad biking, sand surfing and 4x4 experiences.
Ali and his team can organise all your desert activities when you arrive.
The one ATM in this busy town isn't enough. The hotel can accept cards to help. Be prepared, this is a traditional rural area very different from big city life.
I spent 3 nights in Merzouga. I suggest Night one: in a hotel, Night two: in one of the desert camps, Night three: back to the hotel. That way you can have time to visit the towns and areas nearby such as Rissani. Many tourists on a pre organised tour suffer due to the long drive to Merzouga. I flew into Errichiada. The journey to Merzouga it's just 90 minutes Giving me time to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy more than one sunset and sunrise.
They have a special member of the camel family in Morocco called Dromedaries (one hump). From Hotel Riad Ali you can open a side door, step outside into the desert and enjoy the wonderful sights of the herd of Dromedaries and watch them smiling and enjoying life in their natural habitat.
Nothing to dislike everything was as I expected.
