Beautiful Beach House
A great deal of thought has gone into the interior design of this beautiful property. It oozes style and provides a sense of luxury. The bed was super comfortable on the lower level with a spacious ensuite with walk in shower and a free standing bath. Quality toiletries. There is a separate toilet and laundry facilities on the lower level also. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms and an open plan kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is a cook's kitchen which was greatly appreciated. Global knives a total bonus! Overall the holiday house offers a generous and comfortable holiday experience. It feels like a genuine home with plenty of beautiful and thoughtful touches and art works. Freycinet Holiday Rentals who manage the property were also fantastic to deal with as we did have a glitch with the heating the first night which they sorted quickly for us and with warmth and graciousness. A major bonus is that a the property is only a 70 metre or so walk down to the most glorious beach! It is a magical beach, perfect for long romantic walks and a swim! Noone hardly on it either! Which you can't say for the Coles bay beaches which often have throngs of tourists on them! Only a short five minute drive into Coles Bay and Freycinet National Park.
I hate to say this as we did love Baden house itself, but I feel I have to be honest in relation to the property's location as I think the images on Booking.com may be a little misleading - well, they were to us, though perhaps we weren't looking at the images properly I don't, so our disappointment could be of our own creation! We were a little disappointed on arrival with the house's position. Though close to the beach It is directly off a road in a big newish housing estate. The images give the impression that the property enjoys 180 degree expansive sea views, but this is not the case. Yes there are sea views, and nice views, but the view of the beach is at an angle as there was another property directly infront of Baden House, though you can clearly see down the length of the beach to one side of the property. At first we were disappointed about this, particularly in lieu of the price we were paying and because we had thought it was a virtual beach front property, but the quality of the accommodation in the 3 days we were there did go a long way to soften that disappointment. It was a pleasure to come home to Baden house at the end of each day! The sea view from Baden House is from a side deck so its not a virtual beach front property with just crown land infront of it, if that is what you were hoping for (as were we)! We did also expect to have a little more space around the property as we live quite remotely ourselves so enjoy nature and space, but there are two other houses directly next to Baden House, one to the side and one to the front. Baden House is still a lovely property though, indeed one of the most comfortable holiday houses we have stayed in in a while! Don't discount it, it is rather lovely! And you do get a lovely filtered sea view, just not 180 degree expansive WOW water views is all! If we had realised this upfront, we wouldn't have had anything negative to say about our stay! As a holiday house overall its great!

A wonderful base to explore the stunning Freycinet peninsula. Would recommend without hesitation

Beautiful accommodation in idyllic location
Baden House is located in our favourite little corner of Tasmania, Coles Bay. The house is located in Swanwick which is a short drive from the main part of Coles Bay. Sandpiper Beach and Great Oyster Bay can be viewed from the living area. It is a short walk at the end of the street down to Sandpiper Beach. The house is beautifully finished, and the bathrooms were stunning. Upstairs, the kitchen was fully equipped ready for you to cook anything for the family. Large kitchen island bench to allow plenty of preparation space. Dining table that seated 8 and a comfy couch in front of the Fireplace. Large flatscreen TV complements the living area. There is a telescope setup to view the surrounding coastline or the stars perhaps. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs has a large laundry with Washing Machine and dryer, and a toilet, and then there is the main bedroom with a huge ensuite with shower, bath and vanity, all beautifully finished. Outside was an area for you to entertain with a bbq, and a pull out clothesline if you need to do some washing. Coles Bay is a short drive down the road where you will find Iluka Tavern, General Stores, Geographe Pizza Restaurant, The Icecreamery just to name a few. Coles Bay is where you catch the Wineglass Bay Cruise, or you can catch a Pennicott Water Taxi out to Hazards Beach or Cooks Beach. A little further on from Coles Bay takes you into the National Park where you can walk the track up to the Wineglass Bay lookout, walk down to Wineglass Bay Beach, walk the isthmus track from Wineglass Bay Beach to Hazards Beach, then you can either walk the Hazards Beach track back to Coles Bay, or organise a Pennicott Water Taxi back…so much to enjoy in this region whilst enjoying your beautiful accommodation. Would definitely stay in Baden House again.
