There was a strong musty smell coming from the bathroom and it smell up the whole place.

This apartment could be excellent with a few things sorted
Prior to arrival I contacted Happy Days apartments (16 Queen Avenue) with concerns regarding the sofa after reading the previous reviews on booking.com to be told someone would have a look at it before we arrived. The first thing we noticed when we arrived in the apartment was the sofa with old stains, uncomfortable sitting we had to put a duvet cover on it and not looking presentable with a very musty smell coming from it. I asked for this to be replaced as we didn’t want to sit on it never mind have someone needing to sleep on it. I was told they would raise it with the team to be told there were none available at the moment. The following day we found out where the stains were coming from….. from a leak in the roof on further inspection the walls had old water stains so this must’ve been an old leak.
We tried to use the microwave in the morning but this was not working at all, again reported issue. Again we were told they will check with the team. They did ask if we would be in after 11.00 if not the team would go in when we were out. Which I agreed they could. They wanted us to tell them when we would be back as they didn’t have a spare key for the apartment……… I didn’t as I didn’t know when I would be back. The microwave has not been PAT tested since 05/12/22 to my surprise as I’m sure this will be a legal requirement for a rented property.
