Great location one block from morning fish market and a few blocks from the train station. Very comfortable beds, and great layout of room. Very comfortable for 3 adults and one teenager. Very clean. Room was a great size and well laid out -- more larger than most Japanese rooms.
The breakfast was underwhelming. Would not pay for it again.

Everything was excellent. All of the staff was so friendly! Chiriho and Sakiko, I think those were their names, they were especially awesome! They made me the tastiest double esspresso's I have had in Japan plus they had honey which was what I love for my esspresso. The room was one of the biggest rooms we have stayed at in Japan. It was super close to the morning market, Hakodate station and the street car stops. Also it was within walking distance of the redbrick warehouses and Mt hakodate. There is also a lawson right nearby that had an excellent beer selection. I would have bought beer at the hotel all the beers looked good I just prefer pilsners or beers like kolsch. They mainly had IPA's some fruity beer and a Hefeweizen. Not a complaint though. My mom enjoyed the Pizza toast as well. Check out the fort when you are here it was beautiful as well. Also there is an amazing roastbeef sandwich shop called Caravan and a great massage parlor called puamana I believe. Both of those places are within a 5-8 minute walk.
I was a little confused by the QR thing but it wasnt too hard to figure out after the staff helped me. Also this is more my fault than theirs I didn't do enough research. They aren't able to accept shipped luggage through yamato. They run a skeleton crew plus the actual property isn't big enough to store it. I saw people storing their luggage before departure after they checked out which was very nice of them. Though it is not really alot of space so they might not be able to do so. For me though the accomodations and the staff made me forget all about these issues because everything was so great!

We had a wonderful stay at FAV. The room was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable.
The room had everything we needed to prepare a simple breakfast, and having a Lawson store right next door was very convenient. There were also many restaurants nearby, including the famous Lucky Pierrot.
The free parking was a great bonus, and we always found a parking space even when returning in the evening.
We highly recommend FAV and would love to stay here again on our next visit!

The hotel is pretty new and is modern.
There is no human at night at the front desk. Too much technology as one has to do all the check in things yourself.
We had a large suite but space was wasted and the base of the beds was on a platform which made it really uncomfortable to get on and off. Kitchen also is not a full kitchen
