The good - clean, well maintained, and free coffee. Very close to Kyoto station and restaurtants and shopping mall.
Notes for improvements: Coffee machine not available until 7am. Breakfast was expensive.
Overall - would stay there again.

This was our second stay and we really enjoy this hotel. It is very clean and the staff is very helpful. We had our luggage shipped from Tokyo several days before we arrived and they held it for us.
The rooms are small but that is expected in Japan. The beds are very comfortable though and it is very quiet. There is laundry machines, and the hotel has breakfast and public baths but we haven't used them. The hotel gives you recyclable bags and some other amenities (toothbrushes, etc) you can keep. The location is unmatched - you can get to Kyoto station in about 2 minutes and a conbini is along the wall to the station so quick access for coffee or snacks.
The only complaint we have is this time we stayed at Kaguya (we had been in Miyabi before). Despite choosing a nonsmoking room, you have to pass a smoking area (room with a door) to get to the elevators where the Kaguya rooms are. This was smelly and we really didn't enjoy it. We would not stay on that side again if we could avoid it. We were in a traditional Japanese style room with tatami. I am unsure if they have tatami rooms on the Miyabi side.

High-quality accommodation with beautiful decor and a perfect location
This is a truly high-quality hotel. The decor throughout the property is absolutely beautiful, and the location is ideal for exploring. The hotel is excellent at anticipating guests' needs, providing everything you could possibly want for a comfortable stay. I particularly appreciated their eco-friendly housekeeping policy: you can opt out of full room cleaning while still having fresh towels and complimentary water bottles conveniently provided for you.
The only minor drawback is that the room felt a bit compact for two people. However, this is very common in Japan and did not take away from the overall excellence of the accommodation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a premium stay.
