The staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is across the street from Kyoto train station, which is very convenient. I enjoyed the traditional setting and rooms at the property. They had a traditional breakfast, which wasn't much food in quantity, but still a great experience. I would stay here again.

Convenient location close to train station. Great traditional feel with tatami flooring and floor mattresses and low table with tea and treat set up in room. Breakfast was delicious and traditional.

The location speaks for itself — right next to Kyoto Station, making it an excellent base for exploring Kyoto and visiting the many attractions around the city. What made the stay even more special was the experience of staying in a traditional Japanese-style room. It was a wonderful and memorable part of our trip and gave us a taste of traditional Japanese accommodation. If I visit Kyoto again, I would definitely choose to stay at Matsumoto Ryokan again.
