Plus points: Excellent location. Quirkiness. Excellent cooked breakfast.
In the process of being refurbished - comfortable at the moment, but needs redecorating.

The stay was just for overnight on way to Edinburgh. The hotel itself ok but the town was cute walkable and right on the North Sea. Found a great pub and then a restaurant for an amazing dinner. The hotel did live up to the haunted tales as we did experience something paranormal but not scary.

Friendly staff. Good food. Clearly there are some issues regarding the management if the hotel as the decor was tired, some things like the bathroom extraction did not work and it was evident that underneath the beds had not been cleaned in a long time. But overall the stay was pleasant. Overpriced for what you get.

Indian food was fantastic chief and barman very pleasant and chief always asked if food was ok
Rooms could be cleaner a socket would be good near kettle .breakfast was mediocre but hot and served quickly could do with more choices
If known it was a haunted hotel we would never have booked due to my anxiety
