Ultra modern hotel with friendly/helpful staff. We only stayed one night on our Santiago pilgrimage but were happy with this pick. AC was awesome especially with the heat wave. The room had some fun modern touches though the weird door thing in the bathtub was inconvenient and difficult to use. We didn't have time to dine at the facility but there were a few restaurants by the monastery that were good.

The architecture of Pousada Armenteira was quite unusual; you see it on the right as you come down the camino path into Armenteira. It is a glass & concrete building with weathered wooden uprights on the facade.
The interior has polished wood floors and walls; interesting exhibits of local artists.
The receptionist was charming & helpful; check-in very easy.
A very good breakfast is included. No bar or evening meal available, but 1 cafe open 'til 5pm & 1 bar+ restaurant, near the monastery, serves evening meal from 7-11 pm.
The room & bathroom were very clean. Beds comfortable. Shower facility quite unique; suitable for disabled access; bath serves as drain-has a liftable over, which is flush with the floor--lift it & you have a sunken tub!
It is more than a guest house, it has the capacity for corporate events.
