The hotel was beautiful, our ocean view room was great and the staff were very kind and helpful. The only downsides are that the hotel is far from Funchal and most other tourist landmarks/hiking trails, which is inconvenient. Also, there are a lot of hidden costs, like the poolside beds, laundry or spa services. Overall it was an amazing stay if you want to relax but if you want to explore the island I’d recommend staying in Funchal.

We enjoyed our time at this beautiful resort which made a great base for exploring the west side of the island. The room, pools, beach area, restaurants and helpful staff combined for a wonderful stay. We split our time on Madeira between Funchal and Calheta which gave us two different, but equally great experiences and allowed us to more easily explore the entire island.
