Comfort Inn Shioriji — Great Value for Budget Travelers
If you're looking for a no-frills base camp for exploring Matsumoto, Azumino, or Kamikochi without breaking the bank, Comfort Inn Shioriji delivers exactly what you need and nothing more. The hotel has ample parking lot for guests.
Our room came with a double bed and a bunk bed, comfortably sleeping three — a solid setup for small groups or families traveling on a budget. Check-in was effortless, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
The location is a genuine highlight. You're spoiled for dining options right on your doorstep: a yakiniku restaurant directly across from the entrance, a Sushiro just across the street, and a string of fast-food staples including Yoshinoya, Sukiya, and McDonald's all within easy reach. For shopping and groceries, Uniqlo, Daiso, Standard Products, Tsuruya, and Aeon Mall are all nearby — so you really have everything you need without going far.
One honest note: the room wasn't cleaned the two nights we were there, though we did receive fresh towels.
Overall, Comfort Inn Shioriji is a big bang for your buck. Don't come expecting luxury, but if you want a convenient, affordable, and well-located stay in the Matsumoto area, this hits the mark.
