The hotel is quite grand looking and the room was cozy and clean, but there were serious plumbing issues in my room. The hot water handle for the sink was nonfunctional and the handle for the shower came off in my hand. The Surf Break Hotel is right across from the freeway and was quite noisy.
You are charged $25 for breakfast and beach rentals like surf boards and bikes. That gives you a $15 credit at the cafe across the street, which was delicious, and access to the beach equipment, which I didn't need.
The staff was very helpful and kind.

Clean very large spacious room however there was a missing door for the bathroom so showering caused a big mess with water. I cleaned up best I could but you could tell it's been like this for a while since the floor boards would creak when you stepped on them. Location was very walkable. Parking was limited.
