Pestana Alvor Praia Beach & Golf Hotel

Beautiful resort. Rooms a little older but bathrooms and decor are modern. The pool area and views are incredible and the elevator to the beach is a real plus. Quick drive or Uber to old town of Alvor with incredible restaurants. The real plus was the level of customer service from the front of the house staff. They are knowledgeable, offer great recommendations and so helpful. Would highly recommend staying here when in the Algarve.

Nice pool, breathtaking views

Great location, well maintained property with very helpful staff. Perfect spot if you decide to visit Algarve. It’s right by the city of Alvor and close to Lagos and Pontemiade. Beach is lovely, right by the rock formations.

The location of the hotel was superb. The local beach was lovely and the hotel pool and facilities were good. The onsite shop was well stocked with helpful staff and the breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Unfortunately, the room upgrade to superior room with sea view did not match up to the brochure or our expectations. The view was obscured by the lift to the beach and the room itself was basic - bathroom tired and in need of some repair, similar to a premier inn. The bed was awful (one half completely unusable) and the aircon would have been inadequate if the temperatures had been higher. It was impossible to get breakfast teabags / sugar left in the room so I had to replenish at breakfast. Of the 8 nights we stayed, reception had to be contacted a number of times as on 2 occasions the room had not been serviced before housekeeping had finished for the day. The stairs leading up to our room were dangerous with loose and broken tiles and the decking outside is in need of a lot of repair with many loose boards which are dangerous and a tripping hazard. The onsite shop was well stocked with helpful staff and the breakfast was good with a lot of choice. We probably would not stay there again unless many improvements are made AND we could be guaranteed that the room we pay for and expect is allocated. This is real shame as the location is somewhere we would like to return to.
