The accommodation
This 28-square-meter studio apartment has just been renovated and awaits you with a fresh and modern design. It’s located on the top floor of a historic, listed building (dating back to 1792) on historic Rosengasse, with a fantastic view of the Frauenkirche and Meissen Cathedral.
The studio is brightly decorated and sleeps 2 people. Since it faces the inner courtyard, it’s very quiet.
The bedroom, kitchen, lounge area, and dining area are all in one room. The bright, naturally lit bathroom is a separate, enclosed space.
The built-in kitchen is fully equipped: electric stove, refrigerator with a large freezer compartment, electric kettle, toaster, and cookware. High-quality spices, olive oil, and everything else you need to cook delicious meals are also provided for you.
We’ve also prepared various types of tea and a selection of coffee capsules for the NESPRESSO coffee machine for you.
A large and comfortable king-size bed (1.80 x 2 m) offers plenty of space for two people and guarantees a good night’s sleep. From the bed, you can see the tower of the Frauenkirche and the Meissen Cathedral. The 32" smart TV lets you access Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, or media libraries, or browse through TV channels. Netflix is, of course, included and free for you during your stay with us. You can get cozy in the comfortable armchairs, read a book, enjoy a meal, or just chill out and reflect on the day in a relaxed way.
The bright, natural-light-filled bathroom with a view of the greenery is equipped with a great glass shower enclosure, so you can freshen up however you like. Of course, we provide fresh towels, a hair dryer, and bathroom essentials.
The fast Wi-Fi (100 Mbit/s), along with the Nespresso coffee machine, the view of historic 17th-century courtyards, and the quiet location, also make working in the apartment a pleasure.
When the weather is nice, the garden in the quiet courtyard invites you to linger. You can admire and experience the historic backdrop with 17th-century buildings up close. The garden chairs and grill belong to the building’s residents and are available for you to use free of charge.
Our guests can use our parking lot free of charge; it’s about a 2-minute walk from the apartment. You’ll receive the exact address after booking. Bicycle parking is available in a small bike storage room.
The apartment’s location is also ideal:
The apartment is situated in a quiet, idyllic alley in the historic center of Meissen. You can look forward to walks through the Old Town, which start right outside the door. Right next door, the beautiful Seelensteig trail leads to Albrechtsburg Castle in just a few minutes. The Meißen-Altstadt S-Bahn station is about a 5-minute walk away. The world-famous porcelain manufactory is only 800 m away. Dresden can be reached by car in 30 minutes or by S-Bahn in 45 minutes. Meissen is an ideal base for day trips to Moritzburg Castle, the Ore Mountains, and Saxon Switzerland.
Sarah is originally from near Meissen, and we’re often there ourselves to visit family and friends back home. Therefore, we ask that you treat our neighbors with courtesy and respect. The building’s residents are very quiet and laid-back.
The name of our apartment, Fynbos, comes from the Afrikaans language and refers to a type of vegetation native to South Africa. Since we’re both huge fans of South Africa,
