Adorable studio with nothing really not to love

This is an adorable studio in the old town of Rovinj. The excellent description on Booking.com and comms with the owner made a big difference to our expectations which were in the end, exceeded. The studio has been lovingly designed and intelligently equipped; including lots of things we don't really expect in tiny historic villages in Croatia such as more than ample power points, really GOOD wifi, an Alexa which was very handy, spacious and lovely shower!. The little kitchen was well equipped - we were quite mystified by the little electric water heater/cooler gadget! - the apartment contains spare adapter plugs and was clean enough when we arrived. This studio is managed by an agency for the owner and I don't think they are quite delivering their best. There were fleecy nylon sheets on the bed which is not ideal in 34 degrees and makes it more likely you will need to put the AC on. We found a cotton one in a drawer and changed it. A mouldy coffee filter paper in the machine but these are small things and we came at the tail end of the season when there's often some 'burnout' in my experience. Also would have preferred a key lock box rather than having to go to the agency office to pick it up. Its a very short walk but the trek uphill with heavy bags after a long day of travel in high temperatures, wasn't that welcome. Speaking of the walk uphill; the studio is about half way up, its a no-traffic area and the cobbles are suitcase wheel-killers. You can hire a golf cart transport to meet you at the bottom and take you and your luggage up for you to the door. I would definitely have done this coming. We paid 15 euros to take three people and loads of bags down the hill from the studio, to the bus station. Bargain! Suggest reading carefully the restaurant recommendations at the studio - there are some wonderful restaurants and some quite awful ones which are still expensive.

A grab handle at the top step to avoid a slip. We were super careful here and knew about it in advance but it would just help. I am guessing though that its not possible as I am sure the owner, considering the attention to detail, would have already done this.

The accommodation is simply wonderful and became a separate important point in our vacation. The interior details are very nice, the owner put her soul into this accommodation and it is felt. I will be happy to come back again
