When we turned up to 3Pok we decided to chose to do a package with the elephant bathing, bamboo rafting and waterfall experience. This was an incredible experience and well worth the money, it was one of our favourite experiences of our whole Thailand trip. You can tell the elephants are loved by the staff and they told us they lived in the surrounding forest overnight which was reassuring to hear! We both thoroughly enjoyed this. It was also lovely to have one of the elephants come and visit us in the morning, which is one of the reasons we booked it. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The location was also beautiful.
We were slightly disappointed with the room size and from the photos on the booking website we assumed the room was a bit more luxurious, the cabin was really small and the bathroom was very basic and the shower would not go hot. There was no fridge in the room which is a bit annoying as there’s no shops that are accessible or near by so we came with supply’s. There was a communal fridge up in the eating area so it could have been worse. The bed was described as “extra large” when booking and it was just a normal double bed. My husbands quite a large man so it was a bit of an uncomfortable night sleep. I think the description on the booking platform needs updating as it’s a bit of a let down when you arrive and see the room.

I loved the elephant wake-up call in the morning. I was provided with sugar cane and bananas to give to my visiting elephants. I was able to take plenty of pictures and spend time with them. A wonderful experience I'll never forget. The hospitality of the staff was lovely. Sarah took me from the hotel to my next location in Chiang Mai city. She was great to chat with. The home cooking was also great! Strongly recommend one night though - that is plenty.
The location is about 1hr15 from Chiang Mai city airport. It's worth booking a transfer directly with 3pok if that's your plan as it's in a very remote area. Grab taxis are reluctant to go there as they can't pick up passengers on the way back. I ended up paying the Grab the fare in the app and then cash on top just to get there. It's expensive for the basic accommodation that you get though - I stayed in one of the main small bungalows and while the bed was super comfy, the rest of the room lacked finesse. I didn't have any hot water so I took a shower at my next location. I had originally booked three nights but realised before I went (and after reading enough reviews) that I intended to only stay for one night. As it's in a tiny village, there's not much else to do unless you book a day tour.
