The owner, Jose Garcia, was very helpful on the end of WhatsApp. I have since sent him a detailed report on the problems we encountered and he plans to do "something" about them (he plans to be there in July). I planned to put this report on here with his replies, but there wasn't space. Hopefully he will say on here what improvements he has made.
The location is hilly, with lots of stairs so not good if knees/legs etc. struggle with them. You go up about 10 steps to enter the flat's front door where the key safe is, and down about 15 to go to the bedrooms. There is a side entrance for the downstairs.
The communal swimming pool is excellent.
Lounge - good for 4 people, dining area good for 6. Kitchen cluttered but good facilities. Washing machine is in bathroom downstairs.
Main bedroom - dark but OK, 6 foot bed was very comfy. 4 wall lights over bed for reading.
Main bathroom - very good.
Beds in general were comfortable, but very poor, cheap, and mostly half-sized pillows (typical Spanish). All need replacing with proper pillows. One of the little ones I used fell to pieces it was so old.
Upstairs patio was dirty but we didn't need to use.
Downstairs patio was much larger, with a side gate, and we used this, despite it being filthy.
The second bedroom looks lovely as it has French doors out onto the largish patio. However, there is nowhere to put anything down, one cupboard was full of the owners stuff, and one was clear but only for hanging clothes. There are no shelves or drawers. It was hopeless for doing make-up. We moved a small table and a chair in there so that there was somewhere to put things down. The two wall lights were too dim to read by, and there is no top light.
The third bedroom has a chest with the owners stuff in. There was no mirror, it was dark, with only two wall lights, so it was hopeless for doing make-up.
Filthy patios, Broken wall clothes drier. I did a temporary fix.
Pillows - terrible

Lack of workspace for make-up etc. in 2nd & 3rd bedrooms and shower room
The wall light at the bottom of the stairs is easily knocked off from the hook it hangs on (I know, I did it).
Major problem is the tiny shower room at the bottom of the stairs. The first thing that hit us was the smell of drains from here, caused (I think) by (a) the U-bend water evaporating and (b) the fact that the flooring is not sealed and is breaking up, and water has got under and is mouldering there. I ran some water into the shower and the smell reduced. But the smell was always there to some extent. We left the light and fan on in there to try and keep it to a minimum. Jose promises to look at it and see what he can do. It is an open shower (so a wet room), and it literally is wet everywhere as soon as you shower. It either needs a bigger lip on the entrance or a door. It is a tiny room with a tiny sink only good for rinsing hands and nowhere to put anything down. It was hopeless for doing make-up, shaving, even cleaning teeth. It’s meant to be for the two bedrooms next to it (4 people!?). It needs a complete refit for it to be fit for purpose. I would put in a corner quadrant shower to allow more space for a larger sink. There needs to be a shelf or two somewhere in there.
The lounge area only had settee seating for 4 people. Very comfy, but if you wanted to watch TV this is in a cupboard so it is difficult to see for two people. There were some directors fold-up chairs for other people.
The keys need clearly marking as to which door they are for. There are 7 locks, so not too difficult to do.
Hot water takes a long time to get to the main bathroom and the shower pressure is just adequate. Didn't try filling a bath!

Disappointing
It felt very secure. There are security gates and bars at the windows to deter burglars.
Also the terrace gets afternoon sun and it was good to watch the sunset with a glass of wine.
