nice house

they use Vacasa as a property management service. they wasted a lot of my time dealing with the contract and rental agreement. they did this a day after I booked it, and had to manage it while driving to the location. flooded my phone with texts. said they sent the rental agreement via email. I did not see it until I was en route. To any owners that rent, I would NOT use Vacasa. I own a rental home and will never use them. only bad part of my visit.

Adequate beach access for being a block away. Pricey. Tight driveway, In need of repairs.

The space was adequate for what we needed it for. The deck was nice and the beach was just barely visible from the top floor. The space was clean once the maid service was done. All appliances worked as they should. We didn't use this, but the fish cleaning station and beach shower off the drive was great. Beach access was great for us as well!

First major complaint is around communication. Vacasa did a really poor job of communicating my check-in time. I received a confirmation email (after requesting a 12pm check-in) that my request had been accepted and acknowledged along with pin for entry to the house. When I arrived at the designated time, I found out that I did not have access to the home and I later was told that Vacasa was tracking me for a 6pm check-in time. I think most of the issue is in how information is relayed via email. Your digital communication is not super intuitive for the renter. You need to make this process simple and concise so there is almost no possibility for misinterpretation by the customer. When we arrived the property was not only dirty, but extremely messy and in need of repair due to a water damage. I will chalk this up as a communication issue as Vacasa and I were tracking two different check-in times. To the credit of the maid service and maintenance personnel, the property was cleaned adequately and temporary repairs made in a fashion that was acceptable. Parking is extremely tight with this property. If you have more than 1 car, the only way to get out of this driveway is if you back out onto Hwy12 (the main artery through Avon/Hatteras). This is not ideal. The price tag was a bit steep for it's capacity. Honestly, I could overlook a great deal with this property, but it's just a little harder to with a $4500 price tag. I just expected a better overall experience.
