The Captain’s Retreat is located in Purrysburg near the Savannah River with two boat ramps within approximately a mile—Beck’s Ferry and Mill Stone Landing. There is a place to launch a canoe or kayak in the Savannah River within short walking distance. The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge with hiking and walking trails are nearby (Argyle Island; Kingfisher Loop and Tupelo Trail approximately 10-12 miles away).

First time ever getting a vaction rental! And I have to say it was my greatest experience other than all the construction in the neighborhood. Other than that we had a fantastic time will definitely be back!!

Absolutely perfect, it’s just like home away from home, At first we were bummed that there weren’t any tv’s in the bedrooms but once you disconnect and realize there are walls of books and wonderful trails outside and a short walk to the river.. we started turning off our devices and relaxing.. and the story behind this home is worth the trip itself..
