Winters in Packwood may get very snowy. It is the guest's responsibility to be properly equipped for harsh winter driving conditions. We do our best to keep our cabins accessible, but winter traction tires and 4-wheel drive may still be required.

We loved the Mossy Moose Cabin! It's very beautiful and well taken care of. The kitchen, bedrooms, and restrooms were all very well equipped and clean. Our sore muscles really appreciated the hot tub, especially after completing long hikes, and the carpets were incredibly soft and felt so nice under our tired feet. We were also happy with the cabin's semi-secluded location. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was also really close to the main part of Packwood and very convenient for driving to Mt. Rainier National Park each day. I highly recommend staying here!

The house is in a great location for skiing. The main floor has a campfire odor that does not Dissipate. Despite having windows open, it did not change. Have no idea what was causing it, electric fireplace was not the source. The driveway is also a bit tricky.
