About this house rental
Trudi's Place is situated in a quiet rural area overlooking the Damariscotta River. Located at the end of a peninsula on the point, Trudi's Place is a 1750 square foot fully equipped home (Summer of 2021) and has spectacular views of the Damariscotta River. With three bedrooms (King, Queen and two twin beds) and two baths, all on the main floor, Trudi's place will accommodate 6 adults/children. The lower level has a recreation room with a large screen TV. There is a large deck facing the water, and the house comes equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. A mile from town, stores, restaurants and supermarkets and a half mile to the regional hospital, it offers all the conveniences as well as a quiet rural waterfront experience. With hosts Tom and Jennifer directly across the street, all of your special needs and assistance are available.

We loved the views and the peace of this home. A couple of things I think are important for other travelers to know. There is no air conditioning and, while I knew and addressed that, I felt reassured that it was not needed. However, in July when we traveled, it was definitely needed. When we arrived, the house was closed up and therefore very hot and stuffy. It did not cool off sufficiently for comfortable sleep, and while there are a lot of fans, we really wished there was A/C for comfortable sleep. The other negative I have to mention is that there were tons of "no-see-ums" bugs that are small enough to fit through the screens. Every morning our bathroom sink was covered with them, and I'd have to clean it up. My husband got bit a lot, but there were no other options than to leave the windows open. I say all of this just to be aware that you are getting a charming and well-kept but still somewhat rustic lake cabin. If that is the vibe you are looking for (and it was mine!), just understand the bad that comes with the good. All of that said, the host was very kind and helpful and the location was very convenient. We loved Damariscotta!

Hello!Tom and Jennifer were excellent hosts and welcomed us to Trudi's place as we were special guests. The house is the best, it's a mid-century dream. We all had a wonderful time looking out to the river and feeling like we were in a tree house. The accommodations were perfect, fully stocked kitchen and comfortable beds; as the nature and the beauty is focus of the oasis. We had great meals and wonderful memories that are priceless. Hoping to come back again. FIVE STARS

In the25 years we have been renting for vacation, this was the best we have over had.. The house was even better than the pictures and you will never find a host as accommodating as Tom and Jennifer. Dave and Halle Widner
