About this apartment rental
This is urban lifestyle where you least expect it: right in the heart of the small town of Gundelfingen, on the outskirts of Freiburg im Breisgau. The FRIZ is a small vacation home in a converted, historic barn on the edge of the Black Forest. The old barn, including the threshing floor, has been lovingly renovated from the ground up. Traditional, rustic elements—such as fieldstone walls and exposed beams—meet modern design with plenty of natural light. The seven individually and uniquely designed apartments, ranging from 40 to 120 m², offer all the comforts of home: a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with dining area, a generous bathroom with a walk-in shower, and comfortable beds with mattresses made from natural materials by a small Black Forest artisanal workshop. A covered seating area in the courtyard, complete with a garden, is also included. The apartments feature a raw, urban aesthetic and are uniquely furnished with classic pieces, accessories, and authentic art that reflect the owners’ passion for design. The barn is located in the center of Gundelfingen, on the outskirts of Freiburg. Shopping, restaurants, recreational activities, playgrounds, and public transportation are all within walking distance. Freiburg is just a 15-minute tram ride away. Numerous hiking and biking trails invite you to explore the surrounding area (e.g., Markgräflerland, Kaiserstuhl, Glottertal, the Black Forest, Europa-Park, Alsace, Switzerland), as well as to go skiing or golfing.
