Guaranteed snow, no fog, and countless hours of sunshine are what set our village apart. Our “Sonnwies” vacation home is located in a very quiet area yet close to the center, on the outskirts of Reit im Winkl. It’s just a 5-minute walk to the town center, and restaurants and shopping are easily accessible without a car. The 5 vacation apartments, each accommodating up to 4 people, have been freshly renovated and, with their rustic elegance, invite you to enjoy a sunny, relaxing vacation. All apartments feature a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a bathroom with a toilet and hair dryer, and fully equipped kitchens (some with an oven and dishwasher). From every balcony, you can enjoy the breathtaking mountain panorama and the sunshine in peace and comfort. For your wellness and “time out,” a spacious Finnish sauna and a Physiotherm infrared cabin with a relaxation room are available to you. (For a fee) We, of course, provide towels and cozy bathrobes. Nature lovers and “outdoor enthusiasts” will find everything they’re looking for here. The trailhead for the hiking and cross-country skiing network begins right outside our front door. Cyclists and mountain bikers, mountaineers, rock climbers, and joggers will find an ideal starting point here.

Reit im Winkl, a climatic health resort According to Wikipedia, the designation “climatic health resort” is awarded to "to towns whose air and climate, according to an expert assessment, possess characteristics that are beneficial to health and relaxation. Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and has consistently met the requirements for this designation ever since through its ongoing efforts. For one thing, its high elevation ensures that summer heat is moderate and nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests of the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the “Bavarian Alps” climate region. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the local conditions—that is, by the influence of the mountain ranges and valley cuts on weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions that ensure good air quality, we actively work to preserve the fresh mountain air through the use of natural heat and an extensive bus service network.
