About this house rental
Note: 4WD/AWD is required in winter between December and late March.
Mountain paradise at 7,000 feet of elevation. This is the quintessential mountain log home providing roomy comfort for many guests with six bedrooms, five baths, multiple decks and patios plus expansive views of surrounding woods and mountains just 7 minutes to Historic downtown Durango.
This home makes a splendid gathering place for families with two master suites, four additional bedrooms, a spacious, open living/dining/kitchen floor plan, den with pool table and media room, loft with additional TV spot, plus multiple patios and a huge main deck.
Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King (Upstairs) w/bath
2nd Master - King (Main Level) w/bath
3rd Bedroom - Queen (Upstairs)
4th Bedroom - Double (Bottom Level)
5th Bedroom - Double (Bottom Level)
6th Bedroom - 2 Twins (Upstairs Level)
There is also a 7th sleeping space with a queen bed off the dining room that has a wall but not a proper door (it is not advertised as a bedroom but certainly can be used as such).
The home itself is perched on a hilltop vantage point overlooking a large mountain meadow valley that is teaming with wildlife throughout all seasons. It is common to see elk, deer, wild turkey, fox, many varieties of birds including hawks and eagles, and even the occasional black bear from the comfort of many outdoor and indoor vantage points.
The home is not pet friendly - please do not bring pets or emotional support animals.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Once in a lifetime staying in a “cabin” like this. The deck views were spectacular. We viewed the Milky Way almost every night and were serenaded by distant coyotes.

Small freezer upstairs would have saved many trips to basement. No door on upstairs bath was a surprise. Low rafters in loft and shower were a surprise.

Beautiful home that needs care. I think the management company was in a situation where their hands were tied because the owners were not willing to fix things. The big screen TV was in the garage because it was broken, the televisions did not work. The grill was filthy and the igniters did not work. The hot tub had broken down. Management company was kind and explained that the owners did not want to spend money to fix it. There was a picnic table with nails sticking out and shredded wood on the sides dangerous to use. Oven upstairs not working . Again nice home. Management was nice. Plenty of dishes etc but needs complete cleaning and overhaul of everything. The landscaping has not been attendance to in a very long time. Very sad for such a nice property. We had a good time and again I think the management company made a strong effort.
