⭐ 1 Star — Bring a sleeping bag and a thermometer

Apparently, a functioning thermostat is too much to expect here. The HVAC became stuck at 50°F, the room dropped lower than 67°F, and despite contacting management repeatedly, the thermostat continued to have a mind of its own. I was told to troubleshoot it, wait for maintenance, and eventually was informed that a technician had performed a “factory reset.” Fantastic. Except it still didn’t work. Trying to change 72°F to 71°F sent it to 78°F. Trying to raise it to 74°F somehow dropped it to 69°F. And, as an added bonus, I was actually told to try switching it to HEAT in the middle of summer. Nothing says relaxing vacation like experimenting with the HVAC. The most impressive part was the amount of effort required to get a basic problem addressed. I supplied photos, repeatedly explained the issue, waited for maintenance, and then had to chase them about the promised refund. For two nights affected by the HVAC problem, the grand gesture was a 30% refund per night. The thermostat had more control over my stay than I did. If you enjoy paying good money to participate in an involuntary HVAC troubleshooting experiment, book here. Otherwise, I strongly recommend staying somewhere that considers working climate control a basic feature rather than an interactive guest experience.

It was a code that I didn't receive earlier - but I just had to call the property and got it quickly.

This particular unit is right outside the trash room so there was an odor in the hallway when I checked in, but it was gone after that. I also didn't like the parking far away.
