We absolutely loved our stay at I Love Mergellina and would happily stay here again if we return to Naples.
The view from our room was fantastic, with Mount Vesuvius right in front of us. Seeing the sun rise over Vesuvius from the balcony was honestly one of the highlights of our trip — absolutely beautiful!
The location is also excellent. I Love Mergellina is in a lovely part of Naples, and the B&B is really conveniently located close to Mergellina train station, with easy links into the historic centre and also to the port. It was a great base for exploring Naples and getting around the city.
The room itself was really spacious, as was the bathroom, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everything had been thought of, with glasses, coffee, tea and snacks provided, as well as a fridge which was restocked with fresh water every day.
The breakfast was a particular highlight. It’s delivered to your room on a little trolley, which you then bring inside — so it’s basically breakfast in bed if you want it to be! There’s a table inside the room, or you can sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the view. You can choose between a savoury or sweet breakfast, and there’s plenty of choice. We loved being able to change our breakfast each day too.
Susanna, the host, was absolutely lovely. She was incredibly friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. She communicates via WhatsApp, which made everything really easy, and each day she would ask what time we wanted breakfast the following morning. This was particularly useful as we had trips planned and could choose a breakfast time that suited us.
When we first arrived, Susanna had arranged a car to collect us from the airport, which made getting to the B&B incredibly easy after our journey. It was such a thoughtful touch and meant we could arrive without any stress or difficulty.
We also really appreciated the flexibility at the end of our stay.
There was nothing not to like!

Lady of the appartment was very friendly and nice, spoke english.
Room was very tidy and stylish, awesome wiev from balcony to the sea.
We had great breakfast, scrumbled eggs, bread and fruits/ berries.
Very good experience overall 😃

The room was really nice and comfortable with beautiful internal decor. The room and the bathroom is spacious. A glimpse of Mount Vesuvius can be seen from the balcony.
1. Before reaching there, there were panic messages asking for the exact time of check-in multiple times, stating that this is not a hotel and we won't be able to enter if we don't inform the exact time. Since we were traveling, we noticed these messages only on the day of our stay and informed the owner about our expected arrival time.
2. The entry and exit from the property is tricky with multiple keys in multiple doors which are not easy to operate.
3. Though the property had mentioned that breakfast is included, we were given coupons to a nearby Cafe, entitling us to a croissant and coffee. This was sub-optimal and not what we think when we read "breakfast included".
4. During checkout, we wanted an extra half hour since we could check-in really late the previous day and were tired and my wife was a little sick the next morning. The water supply stopped before we left, which is unpardonable. We have stayed in many properties and this behavior left a sour taste in our mouths about this property.
